spicy shrimp kabobs

How about some DIY cajun spice to create mouthwatering seafood on the grill? We’re loving fresh seafood with flavor and grilled summer veggies. I hope you’ll love the ease of this freezer spice as much as we do.

  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • sliced fresh vegetables if desired {zucchini, squash, peppers, onions}

  1. Combine canjun spices in a labeled freezer bag reserving the rest for another meal.
  2. Pat shrimp dry.
  3. Rub cajun spice liberally on both sides of shrimp.
  4. Thread the shrimp onto skewers, alternating with sliced, fresh vegetables if desired.
  5. Grill the shrimp over direct high heat, with the lid closed as much as possible, until slightly firm on the surface and opaque in the center, 2 to 4 minutes, turning once.
  6. Remove from the grill and sprinkle with the cilantro and lemon wedges if desired. Serve warm.
