How about some DIY cajun spice to create mouthwatering seafood on the grill? We’re loving fresh seafood with flavor and grilled summer veggies. I hope you’ll love the ease of this freezer spice as much as we do.
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- sliced fresh vegetables if desired {zucchini, squash, peppers, onions}
Directions:
- Combine canjun spices in a labeled freezer bag reserving the rest for another meal.
- Pat shrimp dry.
- Rub cajun spice liberally on both sides of shrimp.
- Thread the shrimp onto skewers, alternating with sliced, fresh vegetables if desired.
- Grill the shrimp over direct high heat, with the lid closed as much as possible, until slightly firm on the surface and opaque in the center, 2 to 4 minutes, turning once.
- Remove from the grill and sprinkle with the cilantro and lemon wedges if desired. Serve warm.
