Flatbread Pizza Party Anyone?

Have you had a $5 pizza lately? Yes, I know they’re quick and cheap, but you get what you pay for. Once you’ve eaten REAL pizza (homemade) it’s difficult to go back to the cheap pizza (our homemade pizza makers know what I mean). My daughter had a summer slumber party and she asked for homemade pizza. Well, that’s enough to make her momma blush. I’m flattered when my kids say they like homemade over store-bought.

With our vegetables on hand, flatbread, marinara and bulk cheese (all from the freezer thawed for 24 hours), I was armed and ready to feed 1, 2, 3 hungry tween girls, 2 boys, a baby and Daddy. I set up the following make your own pizza bar. The kids loved making their own individual pizza.

Flatbread, crock pot marinara sauce, pepperoni, feta cheese, mozzarella cheese (see I buy it in bulk from wholesale, divide and freeze here), spinach, fresh basil and chopped tomatoes. Although most kids only like pepperoni and cheese, at least I’m exposing them to the variety of colors and flavors. One tween did put the basil on her pizza.

The party was a success with homemade flatbread pizza made in 15 minutes. I bake the prepared pizza at 400 for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Check out how we grill this pizza when we go camping or want to have an outdoor party here. We served it with blackberry ice cream floats (recipe coming tomorrow).

Freezer foods made in advance make party planning super easy. Have you ever planned ahead and frozen items for a party? Share your foods with a link in the comments if you like. We’d love to hear about it.
