Fighting Colds with Chicken Noodle Soup {Homemade from a Jar}

IMG_5638

My little one is fighting a cold this week and I made a huge batch of homemade chicken noodle soup. Instead of this huge smile, she’s been lying around and we’ve gone through quite a lot of tissues. Saturday night, I started a huge crock pot full of chicken stock. Sunday evening I made a double batch of homemade chicken noodle soup thinking I was going to freeze the extra. Since my daughter started showing signs of a cold this weekend, I decided to offer it several times this week. It’s Wednesday and it never made it to the freezer. We had two quart jars of soup yesterday and the kids ate the last of it last night while my husband and I had steaming hot bowls of chickadilla soup. I also made a double batch of old-fashioned cornbread in our extra large cast iron skillet. It never made it to the freezer either.

This delicious soup made it to our tummies though… {so long  commercial can soup and hello homemade soup from a jar}. We love it this way.

Anyone else have good intentions of freezing foods, but it never makes it?

    Ive had that happen to me before…I thought I made plenty to freeze..but I ended up eating more of it than I planned on ( and just put the leftovers in the refrigerator ). =)
