Here is an easy fill a freezer bag with seasonings and chicken breasts or tenderloins and you’re ready to dump and crock on cooking day. I love how easy and delicious freezer crock pot meals are. This is the perfect meal to double or triple and have on hand for those days you need to rush out the door without having to look up a recipe. Plus, it’s’ convenient to give to a loved one, friend or neighbor either cooked or ready to be cooked when they are.
Adapted from six sisters
Ingredients:
- 4 teaspoons cornstarch dissolved in 6 Tablespoons water
- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup ketchup without high fructose
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional – doesn’t really add heat, just adds more flavor)
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (thighs or tenderloins would be fine too)
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Directions:
- Label freezer bag with the directions: Crock on low 4-6 hours until chicken is cooked. Remove chicken last hour and shred or cut into bite size pieces. Garnish with sesame seeds and/or additional red pepper flakes if desired.
- Dissolve cornstarch and water in a gallon size freezer bag.
- Add the remaining ingredients, except chicken and sesame seeds.
- Seal and combine thoroughly by gently kneading ingredients.
- Add chicken, seal and freeze until crocking day.
Our meal was ready in five hours, check your chicken and make sure there’s plenty of liquid to keep it from getting dry. The sauce is excellent served over brown rice or whole grain noodles. We served our chicken with a side of fresh steamed asparagus. Yummy.

My chicken is frozen – how would you use frozen chicken breasts in this recipe or any of the others?
Thaw and drop in the marinade. Or you can make the marinade ahead and drop frozen chicken in marinade and thaw both at the same time.
