Sunday mornings at our house: four kiddos dressed, check, Bibles, check, gas, check, crock pot on, check. Can anyone else relate? It’s busy until 12:30 or 1:00 p.m. and we’re hungry by then. We’ve learned we’re much happier with a crock pot meal waiting on us rather than thirty minutes of cooking time.
I’ve thawed everything in advance in my thawing box the night before. When I get home, the chicken has nestled it’s way into the sauce or I’ll give it a push down in the center and I top it with cheese. I can broil the cheese in the oven and serve it over thawed, cooked noodles if desired or place it on a toasted bun. This is my kid’s favorite way to eat chicken parmesan.
Freezer cooking makes our life easier, quicker and healthier when I’ve planned ahead. I’m able to sit down, relax with my family and take a Sunday break. This break works just as easy on weekdays, too;)
