CHALLENGE: Help someone in need with fresh fruits and vegetables
If you live in Asheville, NC, you might know we have a sister site, called Cook and Play Ministries, a non-profit, since 2007. The mission is to serve the needy and less fortunate through freezer cooking. This month, I’m a mom on a mission as a “Bounty Hunter.” You heard it right, I’m looking for the bounty of your summer garden. Summer is in full swing and I know many of you have excess squash, zucchini, tomatoes, fruit, lettuce and more. Would you consider donating a small bounty of your labor of love to the mission meal on July 14? We’re serving Tuscan Minestrone Soup, fresh garden salad and bread sticks, just like the Olive Garden. Click here for a detailed food list of items we need. We’d love for you to partner with us and contribute a food donation or help serve the meal from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Let Jackie know if you can do either.
Also, if you’re not from the Asheville area, follow along with our Ministry meals link on the right to see which meals you could provide for your local shelter or someone in need. We generally feed 40 women and children per month, but you can modify the servings and/or see ideas for your next mission meal. We hope you’ll join us and become a Mom on a Mission for Christ.
Comment below if you can help with a food donation or serve on July 14. Or comment how you would like to serve a mission meal in your area. How can you help someone in need with fresh fruits and vegetables? We love to hear your ideas!
