Congratulations to Jessica C.
Though store-bought lunchables are an easy fix to kid’s lunches, I prefer making my own homemade lunchables with quality ingredients. For years I have been using Hormel Natural Nitrate Free Turkey with real sliced cheddar cheese and the least processed crackers as possible, usually a Triscuit or Back to Nature whole wheat cracker. When Applegate asked me to try their deli meat I pounced on the opportunity because of its well known name and products. I especially like the fact it’s organic and looks like real turkey sliced right off the bone. I tried the Honey and Maple which was delicious not only in my homemade lunchables, but fabulous in a turkey wrap made with my homemade whole wheat tortilla with avocado. I even enjoyed it on a spinach salad with my world’s easiest boiled eggs.
I try to purchase organic or grass fed as my budget allows and I was pleased how well this product stretched throughout the week. At first glance I thought it was rather expensive for the small package, but it went quite a long way because of its delicious flavor and thicker cut. I’d definitely purchase this product again. In fact, I bought it several times with the coupons supplied by Applegate.
We also tried their gluten free chicken nuggets and my kids enjoyed them. My oldest son requested I pack them in his lunch box in a thermos. I used this hot pack method to warm the nuggets in the microwave and place a small paper towel in the thermos to absorb the moisture. He’s asked for them weekly over the school lunch nuggets and this momma is happy
