Whether your family has allergies or not, Kiwi offers a beautiful, healthy cookbook brimming with great ideas. I’ve chosen half of a dozen to try with my family without allergies. We have the spicy mexican shrimp skewers on our menu this week.
I’ve also bookmarked cheesy stuffed pizza burgers, sunset pops, saucy pears and butternut squash, teriyaki turkey sliders and spiced carrot fries. I like the the colored tabs on the pages of all the recipes for easy allergy identification. There’s a section on party recipes, which is always a challenge for kiddos with allergies. It’s definitely family-oriented with “cooking with kids” ideas sprinkled throughout the cookbook. I’m most impressed with the vivid colors, presentation, photography and healthy ingredients listed. This reminds me of a whole foods cooking adventure because you’ll find fresh ingredients listed and nothing canned or preserved, which that’s the way our family cooks.
Though my family, with no allergies, would not need to tackle recipes with abundant gluten-free flours, I still found the cookbook to be pleasing to the eye with easy, appealing recipes we’re trying very soon. I’ll keep you posted and share my freezer adaptations of the recipes.
