Spicy Tilapia Tacos

talipiatacos Did you try the DIY cajun seasoning on shrimp? This is another way to perk up your tilapia fillets in a tortilla. I wasn’t sure how my family would respond to spicy tilapia tacos, but everyone ate it up, including the two toddlers. I’ll be making these again and again because it was quicker and healthier than bulk seasoned taco meat. I won’t give up our red meat all together or stop making crock pot taco meat with black beans and corn because it adds more variety to our Mexican meals.

  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 3 Tilapia Filets
  • 1 Tablespoons Olive Oil

Mix cajun spices in a quart size freezer bag. Thaw fish, lightly dust each side with seasoning, saving extra spice for another meal. Heat oil in pan and sear for 5 min per side. Serve with smashed avocado on whole wheat tortillas. Add desired toppings, such as pico de gallo, cheese, etc.

Have you had a spicy taco filet yet?
