October Mission Meal: Kids Can Help

Kids serving kids is a sight you’ll never forget. Every month Cook and Play Minstries, our freezer cooking group, feeds 35 homeless women and children. These four kids had the opportunity to serve other kids. Our mission began in 2007 with a vision to serve others once a month. We currently serve our church of 5000 and teach others how to freezer cook through various outlets. This teaching blog was introduced in October, 2008. It’s been quite a God ride to see what’s happening next.

This month we served freezer manicotti, freezer apple crisp and Tuscan bread salad.

The women and children were grateful to receive a healthy meal and free toiletries from our local Mothers of Preschoolers.  Would you like to start serving others?

  • Gather a group of ladies to cook and freeze.
  • Find a local shelter in need of food.
  • Schedule a day to cook and serve with your kids (it makes them more grateful).
